POSTDOC

Department of Philosophy – University of Milan

As postdoc at COSMOS I work on Analytic Metaphysics, History and Philosophy of Cosmology. During my PhD within the ERC Project PROTEUS, my research focused on the metaphysical questions related to the problem of the origin of the universe, with emphasis on paradoxes associated to time, infinity, chance, and causality. In 2022, I received my PhD cum laude with a dissertation titled “Time and Chances Before the Changing Universe: A Metaphysical Inquiry”, in which I proposed a new type of explanation for the beginning of the universe, pointing out its relevance in contrast with theological proposals. I co-edited the special issue “Building universes: the philosophical and mathematical underpinnings of cosmology (eighteenth-twentieth centuries)”, HOPOS (2022).
